Hi, I'm Paweł.

I've been building software for over a decade. Early on the job was purely task-driven: here's a ticket, here's a solution. Over time I moved toward a more analytical and pragmatic approach — less "how do we build this", more "should we build this at all, and why".
These days what interests me most is how data moves through a system, where the boundaries of responsibility run, and what it really costs to maintain something that looks clever today. Hence more and more backend, more architecture, and more conversations with the people on the business side.
I work remotely, mostly with international teams. I've seen enough ambitious and over-engineered solutions to start appreciating the boring ones.
AI is a permanent part of my toolkit. I think of it as an amplifier: it doesn't replace knowledge or experience, but in the hands of someone who knows how to use it, it multiplies both the pace and the quality of the work. The whole skill lies in knowing what to ask — and being able to judge the answer.
On this blog I write about things I'm currently figuring out, and about things I know well enough to be worth passing on.
Outside of work I'm a husband and a father. I'm learning to cook, and I've reached the stage where I at least know how much I don't know. Whatever time is left goes to video games, films and books — depending on how much energy the day leaves me.
